When I was younger, my grandpa was one of those men that didn’t believe in eating healthy foods. He believed in eating meat and a ton of it, and frankly speaking, he was actually on a low carb diet without actually knowing it, that and he had a pretty good metabolism considering he never actually suffered from obesity, heart disease, or otherwise. He was the original low carb dieter. He definitely tried to pass these habits onto his sons, his grandkids, etc. But it didn’t quite catch the way he wanted, and the fact that we also ate carbs didn’t help. He called them men’s foods.
But then as he got older and went blind and deaf, my grandma tricked him into eating healthier foods such as fruits and vegetables as well as tofu, which would have been the ultimate food he would never eat, because it wasn’t a man’s food when he was actually able to control his own diet and otherwise. This being said, frankly speaking, there were also old ideas about steak and potatoes being the only foods that you should feed kids and it being abuse if you fed your kids more unconventional foods such as again fruits and vegetables. But these are old ideas, mistaken ideas, and you would really do well to remember all this.
